HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!! This marks the start of the Holidays which bring Joy to everyone matched with the chilly cool crisp air; our favorite time of the year!! It is also our breathing space as more days off and we can practice our cooking prowess and spend more time with the family and friends.
It is also the time for me to think clearly, pause and relax. I mean relax as in literally, emotionally, physically but finances not included. For us Realtors it is the time of the year where most buyers and sellers are also busy during the holidays and who will sell or buy homes at this time of the year? Not a good idea to have strangers viewing your home when you are preparing for the Holidays. Buyers would not want to look and move during unpredictable chilly weather; at least in our area. That is why this season became my “Me, myself and only me” time. I get excited just thinking of cleaning the house from top to bottom; in and out. Then start decorating from Halloween to Thanksgiving till Christmas and New Year. Shopping and wrapping gifts to the tune of Christmas Carols. Start thinking what to cook for everyone’s delight on these three very important dinners and gathering for the whole family.
There will be Karaoke nights, Bingo sessions, non-stop eating and “story telling a lie.” I know everyone else can relate to that. It is also the time for me to reflect what happened during the year; what needs to improve and what you have learned from your mistakes. Come to think of it, as your number gets higher (this is more politically correct) you become wiser, less mistakes and you get to enjoy life the way it should be. The experiences through the years are the greatest teacher in life. Remember how people older than us keep on telling us what should be done and should not?
Now we realize they are correct and we start to do the same thing with our kids. The Circle of Life. I am more appreciative now and thank God every day for all the blessings He’s been showering me all these years. As a woman; the bearer of a child is the most wonderful gift God gave to us. Raising these kids to be somebody that you will be proud of with a good heart and explore the best they can be. For the family that stays together and support us no matter what.
Be grateful to our friends and extended friends on social media who made our world smaller and accessible no matter where you are. Thank you for waking up every day, excited to look at your phone and see what the world will bring for that day. Thank you for wonderful God’s creation as to fresh smell of the season and colorful leaves that reflects the beauty of the world and bring joy to our soul. Good and bad of what happened during the year challenges us to be better year after year. To be able to travel and see what’s on the other side of the world.
Lucky are those who were not born wealthy when everything is being served on the golden platter. We worked and strive hard to become who we are today. Just like the old cliché: from scratch. We were able to experience the hardship all along the way that’s why we value it so much because we earned it. Be on top of the mountain is not where the glory is. It’s on the falling and slipping before you get there. It is about everything that you have gone through before you were able to be up there. That’s the Beauty of Life.
Start waking up with all the positive thoughts inside you and be thankful for everything and everyone who comes your way. How you handle those is what defines you as a person. Quit getting affected by other peoples’ deeds and actions. You can only control yourself. Focus on helping people and create a great impact being an inspiration to them. Surround yourself with people who influence and bring out the best in you. Doing good things are contagious. What matters the most is you. Enjoy life to the fullest and do what makes you happy. After all, that’s the essence of your existence. It is a beautiful life and takes advantage of the Beauty of Life!
